Vendi i Zotit ne kushtetuten e EB Komisioni per hartimin e kushtetutes europiane, nen drejtimin e Valery Giscard d'Estaing paraqiti ne daten 28 tetor te ketij viti para Asamblese per reformat kushtetuese te Bashkimit Europian "harten" e pare te kushtetutes se ardhme. Nje president i vetem, nenshtetesi e dyfishte, ndarje e kompetencave, klauzola e "daljes", etj. E di shume mire qe ka ngjarje 1000 here me te rendesishme, por me ka bere pershtypje debati i krijuar mbi hapjen e dokumentit te kushtetutes se ardhme. Ndonese nuk ka ndonje pasqyrim shume te forte ne media (me te drejte, pasi probleme shume dramatike ka gjithandej), debatuesit jane vendosur ne pozicione krejt te kunderta. Behet fjale per referimin ndaj Zotit ne kushtetute. Pozicionet kryesore qe kam verejtur jane : -Asnje permendje e Zotit, ne respektim te natyres se kushtetutes dhe jobesimtareve (jo te pakte) ne Europe. -Nje permendje nderkonfesionale e Zotit, ne stilin e kushtetutes gjermane, me teper nje thirrje laike dhe filozofike, ne respektim te qytetareve te te gjitha besimeve. -Permendje jo vetem e Zotit, por edhe e rrenjeve te Europes historike, bazuar ne traditen e krishtere dhe ne ate cifute. Atehere tema do te donte te ishte mbi kete debat specifik. Ne pergjithesi diskutimi shpresoj te preke laicizmin e shteteve dhe identitetin e perbashket te Europes se Bashkuar.

Politikat demografike Rritja e popullsise boterore eshte nje nga problemet me aktuale dhe nje nga aktualisht me te nenvleftesuarat. Megjithate, kjo eshte e ardhmja e mjedisit te kufizuar me emrin Toke: Nderkohe rritja demografike shenon diznivele te skajshme midis shteteve "te rinj" qe karakterizohen nga lindje, vdekje foshnjore te shumta, moshe mesatare e ulet dhe atyre "te plakur" ku tashme lindjet e pakta nderthurren me zgjatjen e jetes mesatare. The suppression of competition and the establishment of local monopolies on the dissemination of news and opinion have characterized the rise of Jewish control over America's newspapers. The resulting ability of the Jews to use the press as an unopposed instrument of Jewish policy could hardly be better illustrated than by the examples of the nation's three most prestigious and influential newspapers: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. These three, dominating America's financial and political capitals, are the newspapers that set the trends and the guidelines for nearly all the others. They are the ones that decide what is news and what isn't, at the national and international levels. They originate the news; the others merely copy it. And all three newspapers are in Jewish hands. The New York Times, with a September 1999 circulation of 1,086,000, is the unofficial social, fashion, entertainment, political, and cultural guide of the nation. It tells America's "smart set" which books to buy and which films to see; which opinions are in style at the moment; which politicians, educators, spiritual leaders, artists, and businessmen are the real comers. And for a few decades in the 19th century it was a genuinely American newspaper. The New York Times was founded in 1851 by two Gentiles, Henry J. Raymond and George Jones. After their deaths, it was purchased in 1896 from Jones's estate by a wealthy Jewish publisher, Adolph Ochs. His great-great-grandson, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., is the paper's current publisher and the chairman of the New York Times Co. The executive editor is Joseph Lelyveld, also a Jew (he is a rabbi's son). The Sulzberger family also owns, through the New York Times Co., 33 other newspapers, including the Boston Globe, purchased in June 1993 for $1.1 billion; twelve magazines, including McCall's and Family Circle with circulations of more than 5 million each; seven radio and TV broadcasting stations; a cable-TV system; and three book publishing companies. The New York Times News Service transmits news stories, features, and photographs from the New York Times by wire to 506 other newspapers, news agencies, and magazines. Of similar national importance is the Washington Post, which, by establishing its "leaks" throughout government agencies in Washington, has an inside track on news involving the Federal government. The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John R. McLean, and later inherited by Edward B. McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier and former partner of the infamous Bernard Baruch, industry czar in America during the First World War. The Washington Post is now run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer's daughter. She is the principal stockholder and the board chairman of the Washington Post Co. In 1979 she appointed her son Donald publisher of the paper. He now also holds the posts of president and CEO of the Washington Post Co. The newspaper has a daily circulation of 763,000, and its Sunday edition sells 1.1 million copies. The Washington Post Co. has a number of other media holdings in newspapers (the Gazette Newspapers, including 11 military publications); in television (WDIV in Detroit, KPRC in Houston, WPLG in Miami, WKMG in Orlando, KSAT in San Antonio, WJXT in Jacksonville); and in magazines, most notably the nation's number-two weekly newsmagazine, Newsweek. The Washington Post Company's various television ventures reach a total of about 7 million homes, and its cable TV service, Cable One, has 635,000 subscribers. In a joint venture with the New York Times, the Post publishes the International Herald Tribune, the most widely distributed English-language daily in the world. The Wall Street Journal, which sells 1.8 million copies each weekday, is the nation's largest-circulation daily newspaper. It is owned by Dow Jones & Company, Inc., a New York corporation that also publishes 24 other daily newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron's, among other things. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter R. Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal. But Bali was just the story of the month. And soon, perhaps, the Karachi bombings and the Bali bombings and the Mombasa bombings will be just stories of the week. See how easily we have acclimatized to death on a vast scale? What is to be this week's nightmare? How many innocents will be killed by the time you open next week's Independent on Sunday? But last week's killings in Kenya and the attempt to bring down an Israeli airliner were far more important than most people realize. For by bringing Israel into the loop – by allowing Israel to become a partner in President Bush's asinine "war on terror" – al-Qa'ida has ensured that the Arab Muslim world will henceforth give its real if quiescent sympathy to Osama bin Laden. Outraged as many Arabs were at the international crimes against humanity of 11 September 2001, few will object to an attack against Israelis, however cruel, while Israel's suppression of the Palestinians continues. If al-Qa'ida is now against Israel, Arabs will give their support. With utter predictability, Ariel Sharon walked into the al-Qa'ida trap. He vowed "revenge". Thus any strike against the al-Qa'ida – by America, by Britain, by Australia – will be seen as an Israeli attack. America and Britain and Israel are now fighting on the same side. In the short term – and in his mendacious attempt to link Yasser Arafat with Mr bin Laden – Mr Sharon may have gained some advantage. At last, Israel's war on Palestinian "terror" can be placed on the same footing as its new war against al-Qa'ida. No longer will Mr Sharon's ghastly spokesmen have to justify their army's brutality towards Palestinians. Israel is fighting the same struggle of "good against evil" that President Bush invented for us just over a year ago. But for Israelis, there is one big error in all this. By responding to al-Qa'ida's wicked assault on its civilians, it is taking on a mighty big opponent. For Mr bin Laden's men are not the hopeless suiciders that the Palestinians produce from their foetid refugee camps. The Afghanistan-trained men of Mr bin Laden's legion do not spring from the squalor of Gaza or the occupied masses of the West Bank. They are ruthless, highly motivated, intelligent – just for once, William Safire was right when he called them "vicious warriors" – and they may be more than a match for Israel's third-rate intelligence men. Israel's rabble of an army can kill child stone-throwers with ease. Al-Qa'ida is a quite different opponent. And if Mr Sharon wants to take on Mr bin Laden, he is ensuring that Israel goes to war with its most dangerous enemy in 54 years. Better by far to let the Americans tackle al-Qa'ida – and even they don't seem to be all that successful – than bring Israel into the battle. Now, however, Messrs Bush and Blair will have to watch in silence as Mr Sharon bludgeons the occupied Palestinians into further submission. Israel is now engaged in our war, on our side, and whatever Israel does will now have the imprimatur of the "war on terror". Israel is now on the side of the good guys and if it kills nine children when its air force wants to assassinate a Hamas leader, the White House will not even be able to call it "heavy-handed". (Incidentally, it's instructive to note that while the child-killing in Gaza was "heavy-handed" in the words of Mr Bush's spokesman, Ari Fleischer, the killing of 12 Israeli soldiers and policemen was described by the same gentleman as a "heinous crime".) But let's move to one side for a moment. Has anyone spotted something amiss about the latest episode in the "war on terror"? Has it dawned on any of the chickenhawks in the US administration or in Downing Street that they are losing the initiative? Has anyone noticed that Mr bin Laden is writing the script? Al-Qa'ida attacks New York so we attack Afghanistan. Al-Qa'ida attacks in Bali and the Australian government re-pledges its support for America. Al-Qa'ida threatens America and so we murder four of its members in Yemen. And our governments – even the Irish last week – respond not by protecting us, not by uniting in a new, inspiring system of international justice, but by producing laws that will diminish our freedoms, our rights and our liberty. Under attack by al-Qa'ida? Let's tap into the telephones and emails of our innocent citizens. Let's frisk every Muslim who goes through our airports. Let's spy on our own people. How Mr bin Laden – hardly a man of humor, as I can personally attest – must be smiling. Now Americans have got to live with the Department of Homeland Security. The Teutonic roots of this name – Homeland translated as Heimat in the Reich – are perhaps best ignored for the present. But already, travelers in the US are finding themselves targeted at airports because of their skin-color or their religion or their jobs. Here's just one small example. I've recently finished another series of lectures at American universities. Americans are great people; they are bright and they want to learn the truth about the Middle East, not least because they realize. that their newspapers and television stations lie to them about the region. I give my lectures free of charge. The Independent and Independent on Sunday have thousands of readers in the US and we journalists have a duty to talk to them. But on this last trip, I notched up my 21st consecutive "random" security check at an airport boarding gate. Every time I travel on an American aircraft, up pops this little coding on my boarding card and all my hand-baggage is taken to bits. Now I don't mind this at all. The security staff are polite, underpaid and often very friendly – I even persuaded one to turn up at my talk in Manhattan – but the origin of my journey, Beirut, or the number of pariah visas in my passport or perhaps just my reporting, has got me on to the American security list. The boarding card "security" coding is in fact quite easy to decipher – and if a numbskull like me can work it out, be sure that the bad guys can – but the point is that, yet again, a perfectly law-abiding civilian is paying the price for Mr bin Laden. So here's a few thoughts. Why must we let al-Qa'ida write the script? Why don't we set up the machinery of real international law? Why don't we talk about "justice" rather than revenge? Why don't we have international tribunals so that those who wish to kill us can have their time in court? I don't want al-Qa'ida's members blown to pieces in Yemen by Mr Bush's hit squads. I want to see them tried, fairly and by due process. Of course, the Americans will whinge and whine about this. They will rabbit on about how Americans may be taken to court for political ends, about how American troops might be liable for war crimes trials – and given some of their behavior in Afghanistan, I can well see why they would worry about this. I can see, too, why Mr Sharon would worry that he, too, could end up in court on war crimes charges for his involvement in the massacre of Palestinians at Sabra and Chatila in 1982. I don't know if Mr Sharon is guilty. But I think he deserves a fair trial. No, I'm not equating al-Qa'ida and Mr Sharon, nor am I associating the innocent with the guilty. But it's time we wrote the script to this terrible conflict. It's time we stopped crushing our own freedoms. It's time we talked about law and fairness and justice. Not just for criminals. Te shkosh per dhjame qeni! Autori i krimit është larguar në drejtim të paditur. Policia: ishte i paarsimuar dhe i padalë Ekzekuton kushëririn se i vrau qenin Viktima ishte duke lojtur futboll me shokët kur u qëllua me një plumb në bark KUKËS- Vret kushëririn se i kishte vrarë qenin. Krimi i kryer për një motiv banal ka ndodhur në orët e vona të së dielës në fshatin Kostur, të rrethit të Hasit. Burime të policisë së Hasit thanë për gazetën se Ylli Gjoni, 28 vjeç, është viktima e tij. Si autorë të kësaj vrasjeje policia ka akuzuar Shpëtim Gjonin, 22 vjeç, banor i fshatit Kostur. Sipas burimeve të policisë, 22-vjeçari i identifikuar si autor i krimit është larguar në drejtim të paditur, ndërkohë që forcat e policisë së komisariatit të Hasit po punojnë për kapjen e tij. Konflikti që çoi në vrasje Viktima Ylli Gjoni, para disa ditësh, i kishte vrarë qenin kushëririt të tij, Shpëtimit. Që nga ai moment, midis viktimës dhe të dyshuarit si autor i vrasjes kishin filluar konfliktet të cilat sa vinin e acaroheshin. Burime të policisë së rrethit të Hasit, duke iu referuar hetimeve të para lidhur me këtë ngjarje, thanë për gazetën se Shpëtim Gjoni ishte përgatitur për të kryer krimin dhe për të realizuar atë priste momentin e duhur. Viktima Ylli Gjoni ka qenë duke luajtur futboll me një grup shokësh, ku në afërsi të vendit ku ata po luanin është afruar kushëriri i tij Shpëtim Gjoni. Sipas burimeve të policisë që i referohen edhe dëshmive në vendngjarje, 22-vjeçari mbante një automatik kallashnikov që e kishte fshehur poshtë xhupit dhe priste momentin e volitshëm për të gjetur shkak dhe për ta shkrehur atë në drejtim të kushëririt. Por edhe për këtë ai kishte menduar. Autori i vrasjes është futur në fushën e lojës, duke e prishur atë, ndërkohë që për këtë veprim ka hasur në reagimin e kushëririt të tij, viktimës Ylli Gjoni i cili ka thënë që të dilte jashtë fushës dhe të mos i pengonte në lojën e tyre. Kaq i është dashur autorit të krimit që të nxjerrë menjëherë kallashnikovin që e kishte fshehur poshtë xhupit, duke e shkrehur në drejtim të kushëririt të tij. Një plumb e ka goditur në bark Shpëtim Gjonin duke e lënë të vdekur në vend. Po sipas burimeve të policisë që i referohen dëshmitarëve okularë, autori i vrasjes ka hedhur xhupin dhe me automatik në krah është larguar me qetësi nga vendi i ngjarjes. Punonjës të policisë së Hasit, të cilët kanë qenë në vendngjarje bëjnë të ditur se në të dyja familjet, mbizotëronte një varfëri e madhe. Të njëjtit punonjës policie bëjnë të ditur se autori i vrasjes ishte person i paarsimuar, i padalë. Viktima kishte një vëlla emigrant në Itali dhe për këtë qëllim, varrimi i tij është shtyrë deri në ardhjen e vëllait nga Italia. Hamasi mohon çdo pergjejgesi duke nenvizuar faktin se atentatet e saj kryhen vetem ne territor Izraelian. Dikush avancoi mundesine e nje imlpikimi te Al Qaedes, por asgje nuk eshte e sigurte. Besoj se Keto aksione forcojne poziten e atyre qe duan luften(Sharon, Bush, Blair), dhe natyrisht nuk jane nje rruge e drejte per te arritur drejt paqes. Dhe neqoftese keto aksione do te vazhdojne, njerezit e thjeshte, duke u ndier te kercenuar do te jene dakort natyrisht me perdorimin e dhunes.

I have just been made aware of the conditions at the Negev Prison. And they are horrific. 1) Medical treatment is being denied to all prisoners. Only those on deaths door are taken for treatment. Many men have severe burns (I'll describe the fire later), infected bullet wounds, broken bones, pneumonia, and malnutrition. Aspirin (the only med dispensed) is the catchall cure for all the men's maladies. Organizations must act quickly to save and care for the sick and wounded patients in the Negev detention camp. No surgeries or proper medication are given to them. They are facing a slow death as a result of this blatant neglect. 2) There are presently about 1,280 prisoners at the Negev Tent Prison. The men are help in barbwire cages, 60 per sector, and 20 per 6x6 meter non-waterproof tent. They sleep on wooden planks with one blanket per man. The temperature plummets to zero or just above at night. The men are suffering because of the cold, especially as some have little or no clothing and let be noted that they are in the same clothes they were arrested in. In terms of sanitation there is a hole in the ground and this dug up only once every 2 months so the stench is horrific. The cages as I said before are open to the elements and snakes and scorpions often crawl into the common areas. During the heat of the day, flies swarm all over the men. They have to keep moving to avoid the flies and at night mosquitoes torture the men. There is also no electricity. 3) The prisoners live on inhuman food rations they get peas and rice, rice and peas and peas and rice. They are given moldy, many times frozen bread and every 4th day lukewarm tea. 4) There are no basic supplies or items for personal hygiene. There is a spout for a shower but it only has ice-cold water. There are no paper or pens. The men are not allowed to receive clothes or gifts from family. 5) If they are seen to move out of the tents, the soldiers have been ordered to point their rifles, with their fingers on the trigger, ready to shoot. In addition, the guards inside are all armed, which is in direct contravention of the law. 6) All the men in the Negev desert prison are held for indefinite periods of time without charges or trial. Many times the men are told they are to be released but then at the hearing they renew the sentence for 6 more months, on grounds ?that are a threat to the nation. Now remember there are no charges and no evidence to make such a charge. The prisoners' lawyers are often barred from seeing them and since the prison is on a military base all Human Rights Groups, Family and Media are barred from the prison. 7) Many men have been tortured. All are systematically beaten. 8) On October 24th at 8:30 am 3 men were told they must come with the IDF guards because they were accused of trying to escape. The other prisons knew this was false and all that the guards were going to do was torture the prisoners, so they refused to leave the cage. A scuffle ensued and the guards lobbed tear gas and percussion grenades into all the prison sectors. In several sectors the percussion grenades started fires and in one sector the winds whipped up the fire so furiously the men were in danger of being engulfed. The 60 men desperately used wooden planks to break their way into the next sector to escape the fire. They succeeded but it took quite a while and many men were badly burned. The guards also shot rubber bullets into the men-s cages and several men took deep hits because the shots were taken at close range. In all 33 people were wounded and no one got care. Even more disgusting was that the men housed in the badly burned section were left to sleep on the remains of the charred tent with no blankets and no tent covering for 15 days. There must be immediate action. These men are suffering terribly and many are in danger of dying. International laws are being broken. Someone must have the power to at least give these men humane conditions. I have contacted Amnesty and Human Rights Watch hopefully someone can help.

Diskutim dhe Vleresim Si e vleresoni ju, kur te gjithe prominenten e politikes Shqiptare ishin mbledhur ne qytetin e flamurit dhe po festonin 90-vjetorin e pavaresise sebashku, dhe Rugove propozon nje ndarje kombetare???? C'fare roli po luan ky politikan? Lojen e kujt po ndjek? Une personalisht e vleresoj ate Propozim si nje thike pas shpine per kombin Shqiptare. Qendrime te tilla duhen eliminuar shpejt, me pra se ato te behen me te rrezikshme per kombin tone. Politika e Rugoves duhet te abstenohet. Mund te realizohet krijimi i dy shteteve, por jo ndarja e nje kombi. Shteti si nozion nuk duhet te ngaterrohet kombin. Rugova shkoje njehere ne Beograd kur rruget i kishte te hapura per te ardhur ne Tirane. Po tani cfare ka nder mend ai??? Kombi Shqiptare ne te gjitha trojet e tij ka nje himn dhe nje flamur. Nje strof e Himnit tone Kombetar thote. Ketu, se bashku me disa shqiptare te tjere, po ate mot themeluane klubin "Zgjimi".Kur "Vatra" filloi aktivitetin e saj,Kosta ishte nje nga perkrahesit me te forte te deges nr.4Ne 1914 ai ishte sekretar i kesaj dege te fuqishme te "Vatres" dhe me 1915 u be kryetar i saj.Me 1916 ai arriti te bashkoje shume shqipatre qe grindeshin per idera dhe krahina dhe formoi nje Kuvend Historik per bashkimin shqiptar dhe vet u zgjodh "Çairmën i Kuvendit"Me 1917 ai u zgjodh Kryetr i Komitetit Lidhja Kombetare,ne ate Kuvend ai propozoi qe te thirreshin ne nje Kongres ku te perfaqesoheshin tere kreret e shqiptareve me zoterinjte Mhmet Konica dhe Mihal Turtulli ne krye.Me 1918 ai u zgjodh anetar i Keshillit te Vatres,nje vit me von u be antar i Qendres se Vatres.Duhet permendur se ate vit ai shkoi per te marre nje femije te tij qe e kishte lene ne Shqiperi por greket e zune dhe e futen ne burg nje muaj dhe disa muaj e internuane.E liruane kur i moren aq sa deshen.Kur u kthye ne Amerike ai shtroi kanditauren per kryetar te Vatres por me qe kandidat qe edhe Z.Faik Konica, ai ne shenje te respektit te larte per kete shqiptar te talentuare e terhoqi kandidaturen.Kosta u zgjodh sekretar i Vatres dhe i Djellit.Me 1922 ai u zgjodh sekretar i Peshkopates Shqiptare.Dy vjet sherbeu si kryetar i shoqates dardhare "Mbleta" dhe nen kujdesin e tij u ngrit ne Boston shkolla e pare shqipe me emrin "Dardha".Njekohesisht duhet theksuare se ai ishte aktiv edhe ne shoqata te perboteshme si ajo e "Masionica Chappter Scotish Rite 32" dhe "Noble Mystic Shrine" Gjate tere kohes se vet ai shkrojti pa pushim per Shqiperine dhe shqiptaret pothuaj ne te gjitha gazetat shqiptare te Amerikes dhe mori nje emer te madh per atdhetari e patriotizem. Amram Mitzna, nje ish gjeneral 57 vjeçar qe do te sfidoje Sharon dhe Netanyhau ne zgjedhjet e parakoheshme te janarit. Mitzna propozon nje terheqje pa kushte te trupave izraelian nga rripi i Gazes dhe rrimarjen e traktativave per paqen me palestinezet, konsiderohet si nje politikan i ndjeshem persa i perket çeshtjeve sociale, ndryshe nga shume gjenerale te tjere qe kane qene ne pushtet. Shume intelektuale izraelian e konsiderojne nje njeri qe mund ti japi shume Izraelit, sidomos persa i perket çeshtjes se paqes. Dikush e krahason si paseardhesi i Yitzhak Rabin. A mund te konsiderohet ky episod si nje hap pozitiv per zgjidhjen e ardheshme te çeshtjes se Lindjes se Mesme?
