Ej folks! Kete vjershe e ka shkruar nje gjermano-amerikan ketu komshi me mua:
Weihnachtsgedicht (Christmas song)
Es (it) must be Weihnachten(Christmas)
When the last Kalender(Calender)-sheets
flattern through the winter-streets
and Dezemberwind (the wind of december) is blowing
then ist (does) everybody knowing
that it is not allzuweit (so far away):
she does come - the Weihnachtszeit (Christmas time).
All the Menschen (folks), Leute (people), people
flippen (run) out of ihr (their) warm Stüble (home)
run to Kaufhof, Aldi, Mess,
make Konsum (consum) and business.
kaufen (buying) this und jene Dings (and that Thing)
and the Churchturmglocke (the bell of the Church) rings.
Manche holen sich a Tännchen (some of them ´r buying a X-mas tree)
when this brennt (burn), they cry "Attention".
Rufen (crying) for the Feuerwehr (Fireman):
Please come quick to löschen her (set the fire off)!"
Goes the Tännchen (X-mas tree) off in Rauch (smoke)
they are standing on the Schlauch (rope).
In the kitchen of the house
mother makes the Christmasschmaus (Christmas-duck).
She is working, schufting, bakes
hit is now her Yoghurtkeks.
And the Opa (Grandpa) says als Tester (as dummy):
We are killed bis to Silvester (till New Years Eve)".
Then he fills the last Glas wine -
yes, this is the christmastime!
Day by day does so vergang (go on)
and the Holy Night does come.
You can think, you can remember
this is immer in Dezember (always on December).
Then the childrenlein(diminuitive for children) are coming
candle-Wachs (wax) is abwärts (upside down) running.
Bing of Crosby Christmas sings
while the Towerglocke (bell) rings
and the angels look so fine -
well this is the Weihnachtstime (Christmas time).
Baby-eyes are big and rund (round)
the familiy feels kerngesund (top healthy)
when unterm Weihnachtsbaum (under X-mas tree) are hocking
then nothing can them ever shocking.
They are so happy, are so fine -
this happens in the Chistmastime!
The animals all in the house
the Hund (dog), the Katz (cat), the bird, the mouse
are turning round the Weihnachtstree (X-mas tree)
enjoy this day as never nie (more)
well they find Kitekat and Chappi
in the Geschenkkarton von Pappi (in the gift-box from daddy).
The family beginns to sing
and wieder (again) does a Glöckchen (bell) ring.
Zum song vom grünen Tannenbaum (for the song of the green X-mas tree)
the Tränen rennen (teardrop´s running) down and down.
Bis (till) our mother plötzlich flennt (suddenly cries):
“The Christmas-Gans im Ofen brennt (the Christmas-duck in oven is burning)!"
Her nose indeed is very fine
