<span style="color: #3366FF">Ausstellung: Adrian Paci


Adrian Paci wurde auf der Biennale di Venezia im Jahre 2005 mit seinem Video „Turn on“ einem internationalen Publikum bekannt. Der Künstler inszenierte 18 Tagelöhner aus seiner <u>Heimatstadt Shkoder</u> zu einem Gruppenbild auf einer großen Treppe. Alle tragen einen Generator und eine Glühbirne, die sie zum Leuchten bringen. Das Video besticht durch seine soziale, gesellschaftliche und ästhetisch-poetische Dimension. Adrian Paci ist auch Maler, kommt ursprünglich von der Malerei. In seinen gegenständlichen Gemälden zeigt er Szenen seiner eigenen Hochzeit oder des bäuerlichen Lebens in Albanien – dabei bezieht er sich auf den Schriftsteller und Regisseur Pier Paolo Pasolini.
„Wie derzeit keinem anderen politischen Künstler“, so Hanno Rautenberg (Die Zeit), gelingen Paci „wunderbar lakonische Alltagsstudien, kleine Videogeschichten über die Armut und Verlorenheit seiner Heimat.“
Diese erste Einzelausstellung Adrian Pacis in Deutschland (*1969 in <u>Albanien</u>; lebt in Mailand) präsentiert Videoarbeiten, Fotografien, Installationen, Gemälde und Skulpturen.
