Domaine Saint Prefert "Reserve August Favier" 2004 Châteauneuf du Pape, $36
Gotham Bar & Grill sommelier Rick Pitcher loves the "perfect middle ground" that a Châteauneuf du Pape hits for the Thanksgiving meal. He enjoys this expression, made from 40- to 100-year-old vines in a blend of 80% Grenache and equal parts cinsault and syrah and aged in both tank and old barrels. This intensely colored wine smells of black currants, spice and licorice. Opulent and full-bodied, it's as multilayered as the Thanksgiving table

Barbeito Verdelho Madeira 1981, $80
Gotham Bar & Grill sommelier Rick Pitcher also likes the "toasty nutty flavors" of this burnished Madeira, whose salty tang and rich toffee notes play off the turkey's caramelized skin. Its lemon zest, "marmalade" quality will also flatter any orange zest in your cranberry sauce

2005 Fries Riesling Kabinett Feinherb Bernkasteler Schlossberg, $14.99
Gotham Bar & Grill's sommelier Rick Pitcher thinks the acidity of a dry riesling really complements the Thanksgiving table. He likes this slightly wild, off-dry-style Mosel wine that's aged in very old oak. And we should all be thankful for this wine's price

2005 Littorai Pinot Noir Anderson Valley, $98
Jim Rollston, sommelier at Cyrus in Sonoma (just honored with two Michelin stars), loves that this wine is made from vines farmed bio-dynamically. Supple and sweet, this medium red pinot smells of strawberries and black tea and spices, and balances "ripe" and acidity beautifully. Winemaker Ted Lemon was the first American to run a domaine in Burgundy.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux 2001, $395
The tannins on this grand cru Burgundy are soft and fine. The palate is concentrated and smooth, with lots of sweet fruit. Allison Cook, one of five sommeliers at Aureole in Las Vegas, says it was "the star" of her Thanksgiving table last year, next to her truffled turkey, of course.

Lopez de Heredia "Viña Bosconia" 1999 Reserva, Rioja, $31
Adam Rieger, sommelier at Bobby Flay's Bar Americain, says it's hard to truly miss when pairing red wines with the Thanksgiving meal. Still, aiming for "middle of the road" reds with no obvious tannins, like this Rioja, is smart. This wine is light, delicate and silky in body and texture, with precise pomegranate and red berry flavors.

Bar Americain's sommelier, Adam Rieger, loves this Carneros wine made with riesling, gewürztraminer, pinot gris and pinot blanc grapes. Each grape's distinctive features and contributions (white nectarine, exotic spice, citrus, apples and almonds) come together in a beautiful, unique expression--kind of like the typical Thanksgiving meal

Tani te jemi dakort te gjithe qe vererat Franceze dhe Italiane e shum vende te tjera europiane jane nga me te mirat ne bote , arsyeja eshte sepse keto vende kane histori te hershme te veres qe nga Romanet e Keltet ... (edhe pse orgjina mendohet te kete qene ne Mesopotanine e lashte dhe Egjipt)
Ndersa Afrika , Amerika e Australia jane relativisht "pasardhes" ne berjen e vere por sigurisht mastera ne kete fushe gjithashtu .

Interesante ato keshillat per bodrumin qe dha Paperina .ate 70 % lageshtire nuk e di pse duhet pikerisht aq dhe a aplikohet kjo per dry wines !!??

E meqe ra llafi hengra nje peshk te mire sot , por e shoqerova me birre .. De gustibus nn est disputandum! /ubb/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/pippiripi.gif
