CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: MASTER OF PUBLIC POLICY AT THE HERTIE SCHOOL OF
GOVERNANCE

The Hertie School of Governance (HSoG) located in Berlin, Germany offers a
two-year programme, taught exclusively in English and leading to the
academic degree Master of Public Policy (MPP). At a time when nation states
are undergoing profound changes, the objective of the Hertie School of
Governance is to enable gifted graduate students to face these changes in
positions of leadership in the public, private and civil-society sectors.

Therefore, teaching and research at the HSoG focus on the demands and most
pressing issues of a trans-nationally integrated world. The Master of Public
Policy programme combines a multidisciplinary approach with a practical,
problem-solving orientation and is taught by an international faculty of
academic excellence. HSoG students come from all over the world and a
diversity of disciplines (e.g. economics, law, or political and social

We offer you

* The possibility to obtain a “Master of Peace and Security Studies” in just
one year. The
postgraduate course “Master of Peace and Security Policy Studies” (M.P.S.) is
conducted by the
University of Hamburg in cooperation with the Institut für Friedensforschung und
Sicherheitspolitik (IFSH) and other scientific institutions and partners of the
network
“Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik” (KoFrieS).
* A trans- and interdisciplinary orientated course. The M. P. S.-course is
meant as a
combination of “hands on” and classroom-based learning. The course aims at
introducing highly
qualified humanities and sciences graduates from German or foreign universities
as well as
academically qualified, experienced practitioners to problems of peace- and
security-policy
and to fundamental issues relating their practical application.
* A profound preparation in order to work in peace-studies research and
teaching or in
practical work for national and international organisations, administrations,
associations,
and businesses (e. g. in the fields of peace-keeping, monitoring, verification,
development
aid, mediation, arbitration, conversion, administration).
* The chance to get one of seven scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung
Friedensforschung
(DSF) for this course.


We expect from you

* Interest in the fields of peace studies or peace- and security-policy.
* 240 points ECTS (usually a four-year course in no matter what discipline)
and you must
have achieved an honours degree at a German or foreign university.
* Preferred professional interest and scientific or practical experience in
fields related
to problems of peace and international security.
* Sufficient knowledge of English and German. Students may choose whether to
complete
coursework and examinations, including their master´s thesis, in English or
German. Concerning
German language skills, the German Language Examination for Foreign Students´
Admission to
University (Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studierender)
(DSH), the
examination German as a Foreign Language, or any examination of equal value are
accepted.Concerning English language skills, the TOEFL (230 points/ 570
paper-based)
(www.toefl.org), the IELTS (5.5), the Advanced C, or any examination of equal

accepted. Only applicants who are German or English native speakers are not
required to prove
their skills in their native language.

As you might know, the Centre for Advanced Studies is running a Master
course "Global Studies".

Currently we a looking for Social Sciences / Humanity students, that
are
interested in participating in the European Master course in Global
Studies
next year.

The Master course ‘Global Studies – A European Perspective’ treats
globalisation as a complex process involving various interconnected
factors,
including power, welfare, religion, law, tradition and profit.

The course is a two-year master. The next academic year starts in
October,
2007. It is modularised and integrated:
It has to be studied for one year at one of the European partner
institutions, and for the second year at a different European
university.

At the moment the chances to get an ERASMUS MUNDUS scholarship are
really
high for students coming from the following countries:

- Bosnia-Herzegovina
- Serbia
- Montenegro
- Kosovo
- Albania

Therefor we would be very pleased if you could forward the information

The Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) is a three-year
doctoral
program initiated and founded by three universities of Germanys Ruhr
Area -
the University of Bochum, the University of Dortmund and the University

economic
research institutes. We offer 8 PhD Scholarships (1250 Euro per month).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The program provides postgraduate education in all relevant fields of
modern
economics, covering formal theoretical and empirical econometric
analyses in
labor and population economics, industrial economics, microeconomics,
macro-economics, and public economics.



QUALIFICATIONS:
The RGS Econ is looking worldwide for applicants with an excellent

UK: Research Studentships at Loughborough University





Loughborough University is offering up to 50 full time research
studentships
tenable in any academic Department of the University in the academic
year
2006/07. The studentships, which cover a maintenance award and tuition

The Institute for German Studies at the University of Birmingham is
delighted to offer a full doctoral scholarship for entry in October
2007.
The scholarship consists of tuition fees at home/EU level, plus a
maintenance component at funding council rates.



The Institute for German Studies is the UKs only centre for the
social-scientific study of contemporary Germany and was rated 5A in the
2001
RAE. It is one of a global network of centres supported by the German
Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is part of the Universitys

Research Institute (ERI). With the ERI also hosting the Universitys
Graduate
Centre for Europe, postgraduate students therefore benefit from a

BA - Bachelor dhe mund te kesh double major, ose major minor ose major.

MA - Master of Arts = zakonisht eshte 1 vjecare, por ka edhe dy vjecare dhe vjen fill pas diplomes se pare.

Masterat jane Taught qe do te thote se ndjek kurse mandatory dhe electives dhe ne fund fare shkruan nje dissertation rreth 50-60 faqesh.

Research Masters jane pak me te gjate, kane me pak kurse dhe me shume pune te pavarur kerkimore ne forme research papers dhe research projects.

MSc - Master of Science - dhe zakonisht eshte nje research master, ose master shkencash ne varesi te fushes.

MPhil eshte Master of Philosophy, qe do te thote se ka te njejtin program me vitin e pare te doktoratures dhe pasi jep provimin e mbrojtjes, atehere merr titullin MPhil. MPhil eshte nje vit dhe ndjek kurse ose studion ne menyre te pavarur dhe ben nje provim mbi studimin, si edhe paraqet nje projekt te ngjashem me disertacionin te cilin synon ta shtjellosh ne nje teze doktorature. expense. The fifth run of the program will start in October 2007. The
application deadline is April 30th, 2007.

The Baltic and East European Graduate School (BEEGS) is located at Södertörns högskola (Södertörn University College) in southern Stockholm, Sweden. BEEGS is a collaboration between Södertörns högskola and other Swedish universities.
BEEGS is part of the Center for Baltic and East European Studies, CBEES, which coordinates Baltic and East European research at Södertörns högskola, organizes conferences and seminars and hosts guest researchers. It is financed by the Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies.
The focus of the research activities of BEEGS is on the Baltic and East European area. The language of instruction is English; thus, fluency in English is required.

We welcome applications, this year, in Archaeology, Business Administration, Economics, Media and Communications Studies, Philosophy and Sociology.
Doctoral students will be offered a four-year full-time Ph.D. position.
The employment will be effective February 1, 2008.
How to apply
The application must include three copies of:
1. A completed and signed application form. The form can be downloaded from www.sh.se/beegs.
2. A statement of your intended Ph.D. research plan, about five-six pages (about 14.000 characters with spaces/2000 words) in English.

3. Certified transcripts in English or Swedish of previous undergraduate and graduate studies, with course grades.
4. Your Curriculum Vitae.
5. Your academic theses/essays and other relevant scientific publications. (If you have written your theses/essays in another language than Swedish or English you will also have to include three copies of an English summary in five-six pages, about 14.000 characters with space/2000 words.)
6. References, 1-2 persons who can confirm the academic quality.
Applications which do not contain all information requested or which are not submitted in three complete copies will be disregarded. Applications received after the closing date will be disregarded.
Please note that one complete copy of the application will be filed at Södertörns högskola for a period of two years, in line with the instructions from the Swedish National Archives.

jo! Vende te ndryshme ne bote japin bursa per Shqiperine, ose per Ballkanin dhe studentet shqiptare mund te aplikojne dhe te ndjekin studimet e deshiruara, te cilat fale te ardhura te pakta nuk mund t'i paguajne vete.
