The SIR World Report 2010 – Physical Sciences shows quantitative data related to the research
activity developed in Physical Sciences in the period 2004‐2008 for worldwide research‐devoted
institutions with at least 100 scientific documents published during 2008, as collected by
worldwide leader scientific database Scopus. The report embraces universities and other
research‐focused organizations grouped into five Institutional Sectors: Higher Education, Health
System, Government Agencies, Corporations and Others.
The actual four indicators showed throughout the report have been selected to offer relevant
information to policymakers, research managers and researchers as well as media and public
interested in finding out about research performance of worldwide Institutions. They aim at
highlighting the main dimensions of research activity.
This is a subject report associated to SIR World Report 2010 which shows global data for the
same institutions and all the scientific areas.
