INTERNSHIP
IN THE
EU PILLAR BELGRADE OFFICE
Contract: International
Duty Station: Belgrade
Duration: 6-9 months
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The intern will support the work of the Belgrade Office in political
research and
reporting. The incumbent will keep abreast of current relevant
political developments in
Serbia and Montenegro, with particular emphasis on Status talks and
other direct
communication between Pristina and Belgrade. Focus will be primarily on
the process of
direct dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade on technical issues of
mutual concerns,
chaired by the EU and supported by the Belgrade Office. The incumbent
will work
under direct supervision of, and report to the Head of Belgrade Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The scope of work for this position is as follows:
�� Assisting the Office in preparation and follow-up of Direct Dialogue
meetings
�� Assisting the Office in all issues related to establishment of
cooperation between
Pristina and Belgrade institutions, including European integration
process
�� Facilitation and liaison
�� Reporting and Drafting
�� Any other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
• University Degree in political science, law, sociology, economics or
other relevant
field
• Experience with or interest in European integration and the Balkans
is highly
desirable
• Excellent drafting skills, with emphasis on political reporting and
recording
meetings
• Good computer knowledge, including good knowledge of Excel and
Access.
• Capable of independent work on issues of substantial significance to
the Office,
with only general policy guidance and minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively with people, develop contacts and foster
collaboration
with other organisations in order to acquire timely information on
initiatives
pertinent to the assigned area
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural work
environment

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The following categories of persons are eligible for an EU Pillar
Internship contract
• Nationals of one of the member states of the European Union
• Nationals of countries accessing to the EU (Bulgaria, Romania,
Turkey)
• National of any CARDS countries (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina,
Croatia,
FYROM (Former Republic of Macedonia), and Serbia and Montenegro (S&M
nationals, except those with dual European nationality or CARDS
passport, are
not eligible).
Applicants should be available to commence work in Kosovo as soon as
possible as the
position in question is currently vacant.
