Soon tougher penalties to send the spam messages

The European Commission has urged EU member states in a systematic way to punish severely those responsible for sending unwanted computer messages (spam), which is a problem that torment even 65 percent of residents of European countries.</p>
Although spam is forbidden since 2002, unwanted electronic messages still continue to receive 65 percent of EU citizens, has declared the European Commissioner in charge of this problem Viviane Reding.</p>
We need to accelerate the fight against spam, the EU member states should revise the legal measures which would strongly condemn those who send spam, said in the statement of European komisares.</p>
Results of an analysis which has committed the European Commission show marked differences in the number and type of penalties for those who send spam. The largest number of convictions has been registered in Spain and Slovakia – 39, while in Romania only 20.</p>
On the ashpri convicted persons in the Netherlands where the penalties are up to a million euros, while in Italy and Spain 570,000 euros 30,000 euros.</p>
