Party in Shengjin next weekend, 17-18th of September!
Hi,
We are planning a Hackathon, a meetup for all computer geeks, open source enthusiasts, wikipedia nerds, openstreetmappers and couch surfers in Shengjin on the 17-18.
Also even if you dont know anything about these things but are good with computers, good with promoting, or just have time and want to maybe help, we need more people and are willing to train.
The meeting will be to recruit members, and put together the team to organize the events for this summer of code.
This September we are organizing 2 weeks of events all over the Balkans between the 11-28th of September. Starting on Sept 11th-12th we have a conference in Vlore Albania, at the university of Vlore. We are planning a camp at the former naval academy. We have speakers from all over coming, keynotes will be held by Peter H Salus, author of the history of unix, and groklaw author.
Glynn Moody the author of rebel code and other books. Also
we will have Linux Kernel Hacker Alessandro Rubini from Pavia, Italy. http://www.linux.it/~rubini/.
We are working on getting other speakers, and depending on sponsorship we will have more.
We have also other events lined up. Peter Salus is planning on staying until Sept.28. We have some loose plans for presentations in Tirana, Shkoder, Gjakova and Prizren. On Sept 20-21 Peter will be traveling to Zagreb, Croatia to present there as well. We are looking for venues in the area, Universities, Schools, Companies who are willing to host us. Please tell me if you want to host a talk, we still have some days free!
Then for the grand finale, we will have the second edition of the Software Freedom Kosova 2010 on Sept 25-26 in Prishtina at the University of Prishtina.
So you can see, we have a big plan, and it needs your help. Everyon is welcome to attend and I think that this is a good forum to find interested international people who will be willing to help.
